Radiant UFH for a radiant home

Radiant UFH for a radiant home

Underfloor heating systems create radiant heat to create warmth in an installed building. This can be compared to the way the sun makes you feel warm on a cold day. Radiant heat heats bodies and objects rather than the surrounding air. This method of heating has several advantages over the convention heating systems.

Radiant heat vs conventional systems

RADIANT HEAT IS CLEAN HEAT

The radiant heat produced from UFH systems creates very minimal air movement whereas conventional heating systems, such as radiators, circulate the air of a room. This means less dust will travel through the air with a UFH system in place. This has even been proven to be gentler on people with allergies or sensitive to dust and mites.

RADIANT HEAT IS ENERGY EFFICENT

The temperature to create a comfortable environment with the radiant heat produced from a UFH system is on average several degrees lower than conventional heating systems therefore making it a more efficient system to run.

RADIANT UFH SYSTEMS ARE EASIER TO ZONE

UFH systems allow easy installation for individual thermostats for different rooms. This allows the temperature to be controlled in each room. Although possible with other heating systems, it is more difficult. This point elaborates on the idea of radiant heat created from UFH systems being more energy efficient as having control of the temperature of each specific room allows for less wasted energy for rooms not in use. This also allows for personal comfort as an individual may prefer their kitchen to be slightly warmer than their bedroom, for example.

RADIANT HEAT MAINTAINS NATURAL HUMIDITY

UFH systems and the radiant heat produced doesn’t alter the air moisture content like other convention heating systems can. This means the heated environment will feel more naturally comfortable and never too ‘dry’ or ‘stuffy’.
